h2dance has been commissioned to create a 15 minute mixed choral and dance piece for the celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of The Place as a centre for dance teaching and performance. The piece (choreography by h2dance, music commissioned from Sylvia Hallett) is to refer to the history of the building, which was the HQ of the Artists’ Rifles from 1889 – 1969. The performances will take place at The Place over two weekends in May. Pegasus is delighted to have been asked to take part in this project. Choir Project: Attention! "A Place commission supported by the Columbia Foundation Fund of the Capital Community Foundation" Attention! is specially commissioned by the Place Theatre for its 40th anniversary celebration. The piece is referring to the history of the building, which prior to the Place was the Head Quarters of the volunteer military regiment, the Artist Rifles. Attention! will be performed by Pegasus Choir with original music by composer Sylvia Hallett.  The work is forming a part of h2dance's upcoming project Choir Project that sees the company working with a range of choirs in the UK and Scandinavia.
